Before the Trip
Fly fishing on the flats is a visual and technical style of fishing. Success often depends on making accurate casts when fish appear.
For the best experience, anglers are encouraged to practice their casting before the trip, especially when targeting permit or bonefish.
Being comfortable casting in light wind and placing the fly accurately can make a big difference in your day on the water.
Experience Level
Trips are suitable for both beginner and experienced anglers. Your guide will assist with spotting fish, positioning the boat, and helping anglers understand the presentation needed for each species.

Catch & Release policy
Belize is home to some of the most productive flats fisheries in the world. To help preserve these fisheries for future generations, all bonefish, permit, and tarpon are catch and release only.
Our guides handle fish carefully and encourage anglers to keep fish in the water whenever possible for safe release.
Protecting the flats ensures that anglers will continue to enjoy these incredible fisheries for years to come.

The Belize Flats Experience
Weather & Conditions
Fly fishing on the flats depends on weather, wind, and tides. While we always aim for the best possible conditions, these natural factors are part of the flats fishing experience. Our guides work hard to adjust locations and strategy throughout the day to give anglers the best opportunity to find fish.
